These workshops build on the widely lauded 2008 publication, Setting the Standard: Accepted Principles and Recommended Practices for National Occupational Standards, Certification Programs, and Accreditiaton Programs. The workshops, led by nationally acclaimed experts Philip Mondor and Gail Hall, will animate and help you put into practice this document's key lessons and principles. Participants will further benefit from an enhanced resource guide that is being developed as a companion piece to the workshops.
If you are new to the area of occupational standards and certification, and wish to excel in your work, this workshop is a must. If you are experienced in the area, this workshop provides an ideal opportunity to hone your skills and share ideas with fellow skill and thought leaders.

About the Session Facilitators
Philip Mondor
Philip is currently the Senior Vice-President of the Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council and has worked for the council for more than 16 years. In his capacity, Philip has established policies and quality procedures for the Council's 29 cenrtification programs and 50+ national and international occupational standards.
Philip has worked on standards-setting projects and certification programs for 20 years with experience in various countries and a range of occupational contexts. Some of this work included working with foreign governments or pan-global organizations interested in credentialing systems. Philip is a board member of the Canadian Association for Prior Learning (CAPLA) and the Event Mamagement Body of Knowledge (EMBOK) network. Philip has presented at many conferences on the subject of occupational standards or certification programs in Canada, United States, United Kingdom, South Africa, Singapore, Australia, and Mexico.
Gail Hall
Gail is a specialist in prior learning assessment and recognition models, curriculum development, qualifications frameworks and other areas of occupational analysis and credential evaluation. Gail has conducted work in various industrial sectors, such as tourism, or with specific occupations, such as with physiotherapists or mettings and business event professionals. Gail's research is widely used by groups interested in assessment or mobility of workers and learners.
